So, I did a wee Jamie Stewart/Jim Nicholls vid to “Roses of Picardy” because I was having intense Jamie/Jim feels [I have a really difficult time getting them out of my head, those boys]. I remember you telling me about your granddad. *hug* He must have been as brave as brave can be.

My grandfather had the American equivalent medal, called a Purple Heart [he was gassed, and suffered from lung issues for the rest of his life]. I wish he had talked more about his experiences in France, but they weren't something, obviously, that he wanted to air. It is such a sweet and melancholy song.
