Roses of Picardy vid

So, I did a wee Jamie Stewart/Jim Nicholls vid to “Roses of Picardy” because I was having intense Jamie/Jim feels [I have a really difficult time getting them out of my head, those boys]. All stills, my very first effort but hopefully it’s pretty. The final image is courtesy of the fantastic

I probably told you before that my beloved Grandad, who died, when I was 9, was in WWI and had the military medal for being wounded on a mission. Roses of Picardy was his favourite song and just the song alone never fais to make me cry, let alone putting it in conjunction with the pictures. *Happy sniff*

My grandfather had the American equivalent medal, called a Purple Heart [he was gassed, and suffered from lung issues for the rest of his life]. I wish he had talked more about his experiences in France, but they weren't something, obviously, that he wanted to air. It is such a sweet and melancholy song.
