Every night, after the binary suns had disappeared below the horizon in a blaze of color, Obi-Wan huddled in his cloak and awaited the dawn, watching the brilliant changeful dome of stars with apprehension, fearing one would draw closer, bringing a torrent of death and chaos.

There was no one to help him if it did. His compatriots were gone, and here on the edge of the desert, he was already an outcast after the passage of only a year.

Sudden warmth suffused him, and a silent voice.

You are not alone, Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan closed his eyes.

*heart breaks open* How did I miss this?! Was my LJ trying to hide it from me? I feel cheated!

But now that I have read it....*sigh* Like others, I love the peacefulness of twilight contrasted with the doom of one star swallowing up everything. And Qui-Gon's presence there to reassure Obi-Wan in such calm, unending love is so much what their pairing is to me. Beautifully done. :)
