I finally had time to catch up with this wonderful fic. I did manage to read Part 1 when you posted it, but not to comment. Now I have read the whole thing from start to finish and absolutely loved it.
Your writing is always so sensuous and sensual. Those descriptions of the train's interior that govi20 has posted are so rich and evocative. I just adore the skilful way that you have given us insights into their characters and the air of melancholy and loss which permeates the whole piece is somehow very Russian.
As so often, when reading your work, I wish that I had written it and I can't give higher praise than that.
