Robert was no hero, no fiery crusader in the first flower of youth. He was, in fact, far from perfect, and tonight’s actions would doubtless demand weighty penance, no matter how worthy the cause.

Even if that cause was Holy Mother Church.

He turned the pillow; the smooth linen cooled his flushed cheeks. He did not move as a thick hand slid down his spine and cupped his backside.

“Oh, come along, Robbie. It’s hardly the first time. Don’t be a martyr.”

“I shan’t do this again.”

“You won’t have to, dear Robbie.” Henry’s hand was hot, restless. “Never again.”

Excellent, when you watch Henry VII there is that wonderful scene when Henry talks about Aske and his dawn raid at Tournai then chides him and pulls him unto a hug. Hmmm wonder what they got up to that night in Tournai.

I love the way you have oh so cleverly built on this and poor Robert again succumbs to his King's pleasure. That betraying line ....
