You know, I was trying to respond to your question on slash pairing order, but LJ wouldn't let me - I can't even click on your journal without getting an error message. Weird. Anyway, my answer was that I don't think that in Western culture, there's much attention paid to top and bottom when labeling pairings. I know from a friend in Gundam Wing fandom that it's much more regimented - if it's 1x2, that means Heero is topping Duo, and definitely not the other way around, but if it's Aragorn/Boromir, it could be Boromir topping or Aragorn - most people, I don't think, make the distinction.
