Every night, after the binary suns had disappeared below the horizon in a blaze of color, Obi-Wan huddled in his cloak and awaited the dawn, watching the brilliant changeful dome of stars with apprehension, fearing one would draw closer, bringing a torrent of death and chaos.

There was no one to help him if it did. His compatriots were gone, and here on the edge of the desert, he was already an outcast after the passage of only a year.

Sudden warmth suffused him, and a silent voice.

You are not alone, Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan closed his eyes.

I almost did quit my stoopid job. I have partnered up with the gal who replaced me, so that I can get a break now and then. And I would LOVE a chat...

MIL is in town currently, but maybe early next month. That good for you? Are you going upState this summer?
