*stares at your icon for a second, misty-eyed* Boy, has it been a long time since I have seen this picture, but it's always nice to be reminded...
It is most rewarding!
I noticed! As I said, I am a casual watcher at best, but some of the dynamics in the fourth season were actually more complex than previously - for example, although I thought that John being a person who contemplates affairs came a bit out of left field (it's less that I don't think he would have them as such, and more that I felt they rushed things a bit there in terms of the pacing), I loved how they made him forgiving Sherlock after Mary's death/sacrifice a process and not an instant done deal. And I cannot help myself: although there is something vaguely supernatural about the whole Eurus subplot I loved it. I mean, I just love the idea that the abilities of the Holmes kids are all tied to seeing the story structures of reality itself. And that Eurus is literally the Madwoman in the Attic of the *the* most famous representative of Victorian rationality just strikes me as nifty.
And yeah, the wank on fannish tumblr is so many variants of DO. NOT. WANT. (and a fair helping of DO NOT GET, as well, to tell the truth) that I am very happy staying far away from it as well
