Boromir in peril! And Aragorn rescuing him! *swoons in delight*
I love the opening images, of young Boromir trapped and outnumbered, but still so bravely defiant. At that age, though, he'd have been toast if mysterious stranger!Aragorn hadn't turned up in the nick of time. And then the wonderful dynamic of Aragorn being all commanding, even to the point of scolding Boromir to be quiet, and Boromir all uppity teenager resentful, but in no state to actually answer back. Love it! :D
I really enjoyed the great contrast of the somewhat prickly conversation between them when Boromir wakes in the cave, with Boromir's immediate and increasing attraction to this mysterious ranger, culminating in his semi-drunken seduction attempt (which was totally adorable!)
"You're not that much older than I am. Are you?" Boromir squinted.
Poor Boromir has no idea, LOL! And of course, honourable Aragorn refuses to take advantage, much to Boromir's dismay. The scene the next morning is just lovely, when Aragorn soothes Boromir's wounded feelings by admitting his own regret over what they didn't do, and with that very sweet request for a kiss! And the request to "Ask me again one day" leads so perfectly into Quest-time. How lovely that Aragorn had been so hoping that Boromir would remember. And then him calling Boromir 'my faithful jewel', and Boromir finally getting to ask again, only to get a yes this time . . . oh, lovely! *swoons again*
Wonderful story! Reading this totally made my day! :)
