Yup, it was. That family (Wigbert was a distant cousin of . . . some ex-family friends, long story) was very big on Family Tradition. They were pretty much unreconstructed German Sloane Rangers, and there was usually one kid in every branch who ended up saddled with some weird old Traditional Family Name.
