This looks like it's going to be fun! I'm especially tickled at the way you're modernizing a story (one of my favorites) that was also pretty much about taking Sherlock Holmes and setting him in another time period. Although this one will be a much bigger modernization challenge than the one Moffat and Gatiss took on! Oh, please tell me it's the same monastery, or at least a new one built on the same site.

I am pleased and a little surprised to hear that people are still named Adelmo, much more pleased than I was to learn that some people are still saddled with, say, the name Wigbert. (I knew a Wigbert once. He bore his name . . . stoically.)
