I'm just delighted that you enjoyed it - thank you! I'm glad you felt Sherlock rang true and that you liked Violet - she was a lot of fun to write. I'm not a parent, but my own relationship with my mom is such that it's not difficult to imagine how she might react to the news that her child had been brutalized. In my head I'm picturing Wanda Ventham, Benedict's mother, who was a very beautiful lady indeed, and of course Violet would be impeccably dressed. :) And yes, I can imagine the loss of the violin would be very painful. :( You're probably right -- Harrow! :)
