It was super-nice of them to rec it! I was thrilled. And I'm so, so glad you enjoyed it. I crushed on and admired their characters before I wrote this, but as I was writing I really, really fell in love with both of them. I'm so glad you liked reading about them [or my iterations of them], so thank you for that. And I'm also happy you appreciated the war treatment. I didn't want to go on and on, but I did want to portray at least a taste of how dreadful it was.
